Founded in 1999 by Claire Naudin, a now emblematic name in the region, Domaine covers some 13 hectares, spread over parcels selected from prestigious terroirs, including Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Romain, and Côte de Beaune. Claire Naudin has instilled a precise, meticulous approach to wine-making.
Le Domaine has practiced organic viticulture since its inception, and today pursues a biodynamic approach, seeking to best express the specific characteristics of each terroir. The soils are worked respectfully, with minimal use of inputs, enabling the vines to develop deep roots and produce grapes that are both concentrated and well-balanced. Hand-picked grapes are carefully selected.
The wines produced by Claire Naudin are of great elegance and complexity. Both whites and reds are characterized by freshness, clean aromas and balanced structure. Chardonnay, particularly present on Domaine, expresses itself in fine, mineral and fruity cuvées, while Pinot Noir reveals expressive wines, with supple tannins and aromas of red fruits and spices.
From the first glance, this Échézeaux Grand Cru 2021 captivates with its deep, brilliant ruby color and garnet highlights. The nose, remarkably complex, reveals an elegant and precise aromatic palette. The initial aromas offer a floral bouquet marked by wilted rose and violet, followed by notes of fresh red fruits such as raspberry, morello cherry, and wild strawberry. In the background, deeper nuances of undergrowth, white pepper, and a slight touch of licorice add an extra dimension to this captivating nose.
On the palate, the attack is lively and silky, supported by a fine and vibrant acidity, the signature of a fresh and balanced vintage. The velvety tannins envelop the palate with a finesse and precision worthy of the great Burgundy wines. The aromas perceived on the nose linger on the palate, enriched by a slight touch of blackberry and a discreet but persistent minerality that gives an almost salty sensation on the finish.
The aging is perfectly controlled, offering a subtle integration of wood without ever masking the expression of the terroir. The finish, with its impressive length, leaves a refined impression, combining freshness, elegance, and a depth that promises great aging potential.
