Moët & Chandon

The Champagne Moët & Chandon embodies a legendary history, a prestigious tradition and a constant quest for excellence.

Founded in 1743, this iconic Champagne house, located in Épernay in the heart of the Champagne, is the very symbol of luxury and sophistication in the world of Champagne.

The family's history goes back centuries, when Claude Moët laid the foundations of what would become one of the world's most famous Champagne houses. This history is punctuated by collaborations with royalty, artists and icons of history, propelling the house's renown to unparalleled heights.

Terroir is of crucial importance in the creation of its unrivalled Champagnes. Vineyards extend over hectares in the Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des blancs regions, covering a diverse range of terroirs. These varied terroirs offer a palette of flavors that contribute to the complexity of the blends.

The grape varieties reflect the very essence of the Champagne region. The main grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, are cultivated with rigor and dedication, to create balanced, refined cuvées.

Manufacturing methods are a subtle marriage of tradition and innovation. Harvesting is carried out by hand to ensure meticulous selection of the ripest, healthiest... See more ...

Description Moët et Chandon Grand Vintage 2016.

Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2016 Champagne is a celebration of winemaking expertise, symbolizing tranquility after a tumultuous year in terms of weather. This 77th vintage from Moët & Chandon is a unique interpretation of 2016, a year marked by unpredictable weather conditions.

  • Brilliant: This champagne captivates with its brilliance and clarity, reflecting the expertise of Moët & Chandon.
  • Balanced: On the palate, it offers a velvety and harmonious texture, revealing a subtle aromatic richness.
  • Soothing: After six years of aging in the cellar, this vintage reveals remarkable tranquility and fullness, the result of the patience and expertise of the winemakers.

A delicate golden yellow color, adorned with luminous green highlights. Initially, roasted notes of toast, cereal, and hazelnut are revealed. With aeration, sweeter aromas of gingerbread, marzipan, and barley sugar emerge. Finally, lingering notes of fruit and flowers, such as plum, mirabelle plum, quince, orange blossom, and anise, complete the bouquet. A smooth and consistent tasting experience, where a soft and rounded attack gives way to a firm structure, before ending with a fresh and slightly tart finish, reminiscent of clementine or grapefruit.

Its freshness and delicacy pair perfectly with oysters, scallops, or fish carpaccio.

Its roundness and aromatic complexity pair ideally with soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert, for a rich and balanced taste experience.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
