Odyssée 319

An invitation from Olivier Bonville and Ferdinand Ruelle. Odyssée 319, a journey through the 319 villages that make up the Champagne appellation area.

With its 34,300 hectares spread over 319 crus, Champagne offers infinite possibilities.

It's on this multitude of identity terroirs that their observation focuses their observation.

Their passion for the wines of Champagne and their desire for new experiences, lead them out of the chalky subsoils of the Côte des blancs for new discoveries.

Description Odyssée 319 - Jour 4 : Mareuil sur Aÿ.

The "Jour" cuvées embody a singular approach to Champagne, highlighting unique expressions of rigorously selected terroirs. Each vintage, each plot and each blend is conceived as a veritable odyssey, revealing the quintessence of Champagne's vineyards. *Jour 4*, from the prestigious Mareuil-sur-Aÿ terroir, perfectly illustrates this quest for excellence and precision.

This cuvée is the fruit of a harmonious blend of Pinot Noir (65%) and Chardonnay (35%), carefully selected from three emblematic plots: Trayette (Pinot Noir), La Clef (Chardonnay) and La Ronce (Chardonnay). Cultivated with passion by Olivier Bonville, these vines benefit from meticulous care, guaranteeing a pure expression of the terroir Premier Cru of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.

Vinification takes place in Tonnellerie Artisanale Champagne demi-muids (from a Second vin), refining the complexity and elegance of this cuvée. After 32 months aging on lees, *Jour 4* develops remarkable depth and aromatic richness.

Upon opening, the nose reveals a captivating intensity, dominated by notes of ripe fruit, delicate spices and a touch of brioche. On the palate, full-bodied and silky, the generous structure is enhanced by refined woody nuances of vanilla and toasted hazelnut. The long finish seduces with its salinity and purity, the signature of the great Champagnes of gastronomy.

With a dosage of 4.2 g/L and a disgorgement date of October 2024, this 3504-bottle cuvée stands out for its subtle balance and ability to evolve with elegance.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
