The Maison Cazals was founded in 1897 in Mesnil-sur-Oger by Ernest Cazals, a renowned cooper originally from the Hérault region of France who had married a Champagne woman.
Three generations have since succeeded one another at the head of the estate, and today DelpHine Cazals manages it with the same passion and enthusiasm to continually highlight this great terroir of Côte des blancs.
Delphine Cazals has run the company since the death of his father in 1996. The entire Cazals vineyard comprises 9 hectares of vines spread over 4 communes: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Vertus and Villeneuve. One part is therefore classified as Grand Cru and the other as Premier Cru. All vines are planted with Chardonnay to create cuvées with their own identity, full of finesse and aromatic power. The oceanic climate with continental influences is conducive to its development.
One of Maison Cazals' assets is an exceptional parcel of land classified as Grand Cru in a delimited area: Le Clos Cazals, covering 3.70 hectares of old vines in the village of Oger.
Maison Claude Cazals offers splendidly fresh, irresistible cuvées.

This 2015 vintage is a true showcase of purity and minerality. Produced from an iconic plot planted in 1957 in the heart of Clos Cazals in Oger, this 100% Chardonnay cuvée embodies the quintessence of the Grand Cru terroir of the Côte des Blancs. The signature of the old vines is expressed with depth, elegance, and perfectly controlled tension. Aged for nine years on lees in a vaulted cellar, including 20% in oak barrels after fermentation in stainless steel vats, this champagne, dosed at only 2 g/l, displays great purity of expression.
As soon as it is opened, its pale gold color with slightly silvery highlights, enhanced by fine, sustained bubbles, heralds its elegant expression. On the nose, delicate notes of white flowers, candied citrus fruits, and a hint of butter intermingle gracefully, hinting at subtle aging. On the palate, the attack is frank, the substance unfolds with amplitude, carried by a remarkable mineral tension, the signature of the Côte des Blancs terroir. Ripe citrus fruits and Granny Smith apples mingle with a discreet and persistent salinity, while the long and airy finish ends with accents of eucalyptus and sweet mint. This champagne stands out with finesse and precision, an exceptional Grand Cru blanc de blancs. It pairs perfectly with oysters, noble fish, or poultry in cream sauce, and can be cellared for a few more years to reveal its full depth.
