A.R. Lenoble

A.R. Lenoble

It was in 1915 that Armand-Raphaël Graser, then a wine merchant in Alsace, left his native region to join Champagne and set up in Damery, in an 18th-century building with typical Champagne architecture, the company's current head office. He began producing Champagne under the brand name "AR Lenoble",  "A.R." for his initials and "Lenoble" as a tribute to the nobility of Champagne wines.

In 1947, his son Joseph then succeeded him, then in 1973, on Joseph's retirement, the House passed into the hands of Jean-Marie Malassagne, Armand-Raphaël's grandson, who himself in 1993 handed over the keys to the house to his daughter Anne and son Antoine, the 4th generation at the helm of this very fine House.

Today, in order to pursue its development, the company has decided to open up its capital to the Frère-Gallienne family's FG Bros holding company, which owns stakes in Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emilion. Antoine Malassagne "remains associated and operationally involved to ensure the continuity of the work accomplished alongside his sister Anne over three decades.

Description A.R. Lenoble Extra Brut Intense.

An emblematic cuvee from Maison LENOBLE, this unique signature is made from the three traditional grape varieties of Champagne, complemented by a significant proportion of wines from Réserve, mostly aged in wood and kept in magnums with cork stoppers.

On the nose, this wine reveals a subtle, measured opening, without excess, with springtime aromas of white fruits such as Williams pear, Golden apple and fresh grapes, subtly accompanied by a floral nuance of acacia.

On aeration, notes of fresh brioche and fine pastries emerge, attesting to the presence of fermentative aromas still well integrated in this cuvée.

On the palate, this wine expresses elegant citrus notes, particularly yellow grapefruit, conferring remarkable harmony and effervescence of great finesse. Delicate lime zest enriches the finish, bringing tension and vivacity to this Champagne.

Despite the vintage's potential for freshness, the wines of Réserve play their part to perfection, balancing acidity and offering a harmonious, well-balanced structure.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
