Since its creation in 1951, Champagne Pertois-Moriset has been an independent, family-run producer. Harvesting-Handling, they vinify, champagnize and market only their own grapes.
Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, a prestigious classified village Grand Cru of the Côte des blancs, this family-run Domaine seeks to exalt without make-up the minerality and typicity of their terroirs.
Their 20.70-hectare vineyard is divided as follows:
- 13.40 hectares in Côte des blancs, where the Chardonnay grape reigns supreme.
- 7.30 hectares in the Coteaux Sézannais, where the grape variety is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.
This family-run house is a member of the prestigious Club Trésors de Champagne, a club founded in 1971 and made up of just 24 members, whose aim is to bring together artisan Champenois winemakers sensitive to the preservation of their terroir and know-how. This membership contributes to embellishing the flawless reputation of Pertois-Moriset and enhances their quest for excellence and respect for winegrowing tradition and terroir.
In the heart of the Coteaux Sézannais, the L’Assemblage de Pertois-Moriset cuvée embodies the harmonious alliance between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, two emblematic grape varieties of Champagne. This Extra-Brut champagne, with a dosage of less than 3 g/L, is the result of a subtle blend: 50% Pinot Noir for structure and roundness, 50% Chardonnay for freshness and elegance. With 70% wines from the current year and 30% reserve wines, this cuvée combines the liveliness of young wines with the complexity of more mature wines, vinified in stainless steel vats and barrels for the current year's wines, and in casks and stainless steel vats for the reserve wines.
Made from vines with an average age of 48 years, grown on 13.50 hectares of the Coteaux Sézannais, this champagne benefits from respectful cultivation practices: natural winter grass cover, seasonal plowing, gentle protection, and manual harvesting. After a minimum of 15 months' aging in the cellar on lees, L'Assemblage reveals all its richness and finesse, with an alcohol content of 12.5% vol.
Appearance: A pale golden color, bright and clear, enlivened by a fine and persistent string of bubbles, a sign of controlled effervescence.
On the nose: The bouquet is generous and complex, marked by aromas of ripe yellow fruits (peach, apricot), notes of white flowers (acacia, hawthorn) and a touch of lightly toasted brioche. A subtle minerality recalls the Sezanne origin of the grapes.
On the palate: The attack is fresh and dynamic, carried by a balanced acidity that brings a beautiful tension. The texture is creamy and velvety, with a beautiful length on the palate. The aromas of yellow fruit and brioche mingle with lemony and slightly spicy nuances, for a harmonious and persistent finish.
Food and champagne pairings: This champagne pairs perfectly with pan-fried scallops, sushi, poultry in sauce (lemon chicken, guinea fowl supremes), or soft cheeses such as Chaource or Brie de Meaux. It can also accompany fruity desserts (apricot tart, cherry clafoutis).
