The origin of Château La Lagune dates back to the eighteenth century.
The vineyard of this Château which lies on one of the most beautiful gravelly hilltops of the Medoc is a third Grand Cru Classé Haut-Médoc of the prestigious list of 1855.
The vineyard covers about 82 hectares, average age 35 years, and production is about 389 barrels per year depending on the vintage, i.e. 467,000 bottles for an average yield per hectare of 4000 to 4500 liters.
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot Noir 30% and Petit Verdot 10%.
All the grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is aged entirely in barrels, 50% of which are new, for 16 to 18 months depending on the Vintage before bottling.
Black fruit dominates the nose and palate, with floral notes of peony enriching the finish.
The attack is straightforward and immediately offers a nice thickness on the palate, carried by a fine grain of tannin.
A hint of acidity lengthens the finish and makes it tasty.
A balance that gives a very special sapidity to this vintage.
The palate is full-bodied, with a fine grain of tannin
