Traces of the fortress of Cantemerle date back to the 13th century, and it was at the beginning of the 18th century that the vineyard really appeared almost in its present form.
This is a fifth Grand Cru Classé following the prestigious 1855 list, presented to Emperor Napoléon III.
The vineyard extends over approximately 90 hectares on a soil and subsoil of Garonne gravel and a silico-gravelly context Rare and the average age of the vines is 40 years. Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Merlot noir 40%, Petit Verdot 5% and Cabernet Franc 5%. The yield is 600,000 bottles depending on the vintage, i.e. 6,500 to 6,800 bottles per hectare.
All grapes are harvested by hand, and the small berries are sorted in the winery. Vatting lasts around 28 to 30 days, then the wine is aged in new barrels for around half of it, for 16 months before bottling.

Made mainly from the young vines of Domaine, with a strong Cabernet Sauvignon component, the Second wine of Cantemerle is preserved from excessive oakiness by partial aging in vats and barrels.
It's a gourmet wine that invites sharing and conviviality from its very first years.
TASTING: Les Allées de Cantemerle 2019 has a deep color.
An intense, fresh, fruity nose precedes a very gourmet palate. The tannins are elegant and their concentration carries the fruit away after tasting.
A final note of fresh fruit leaves an impression of roundness and liveliness. The wine is already characterized by great drinkability.
