The Domaine des 4 Cygnes is a family estate owned by Fabien and Amélie Faget, both children of farmers. Already owners of a Domaine in the Médoc since 2016 (La fleur St-Bonnet), in 2018 they set up in the Gers, in Côtes de Gascogne, Fabien's childhood land.
They then christened their Domaine "Les 4 Cygnes" in reference to the elements of their astrological sign: earth, water, fire and air, which they represent with their two children. Originally located in the commune of Castelnau d'Auzan, the vineyard now covers over fifty hectares straddling several villages.
Concerned about the environment, Fabien and Amélie take a respectful approach to the vines and the soil in order to produce wines whose expression perfectly reflects the terroir of Gascony.
The Domaine des 4 Cygnes Sauvignon 2022 has a pale yellow color that is bright and crystal-clear. The nose opens with intense aromas of citrus, grapefruit, and lemon, accompanied by notes of exotic fruits and a herbaceous touch characteristic of the grape variety. Upon aeration, a more vegetal and slightly mineral nuance adds freshness and complexity. The palate is lively and dynamic from the first sip, driven by a crisp acidity that gives the wine its structure. Flavours of citrus, exotic fruits, and boxwood come through with clarity and precision. The mid-palate remains light yet balanced, with lovely tension. The finish is fresh and lingering, marked by a zesty liveliness and a pleasant, thirst-quenching sensation typical of Gascony Sauvignons.
