Brasccesca, located in Tuscany between the prestigious Montepulciano and Cortona appellations, has been owned by the Antinori family since 1990. It takes its name from the Counts Bracci, owners of the old farmhouse on which Domaine was built.
The 334 hectares of vineyards are home to two of Italy's most emblematic grape varieties: Sangiovese, which gives rise to the traditional Nobile di Montepulciano, an elegant, racy wine, and Syrah, which gives rise to the innovative Syrah di Cortana, a rich, structured wine.
Thanks to meticulous viticulture and winemaking that combine innovation and respect for tradition, La Braccesca has established itself as a benchmark for great Tuscan wines. The clay soils and rather Sec arid climate provide an ideal terroir for the expression of Syrah and Sangiovese. In the winery, traditional methods and cutting-edge technology are combined to bring out the best in the wine, while preserving the family heritage.
Tasting notes:
Achelo is a cuvée made from Syrah grown in the Cortona appellation, a Tuscan terroir renowned for the excellent adaptation of this grape variety. It is the embodiment of elegance and gourmandise, with a beautiful aromatic expression. Garnet-red in color, it offers an intense nose with notes of blueberry, blackberry and black cherry. A touch of wood and chocolate add complexity after aeration. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied from the outset, with a silky texture. The tannic charge is finely chiselled and a little acidity gives the wine a fine balance. The fruit and spice aromas are fully expressed and continue through to the lingering finish, marked by a hint of balsamic.
