Brasccesca, located in Tuscany between the prestigious Montepulciano and Cortona appellations, has been owned by the Antinori family since 1990. It takes its name from the Counts Bracci, owners of the old farmhouse on which Domaine was built.
The 334 hectares of vineyards are home to two of Italy's most emblematic grape varieties: Sangiovese, which gives rise to the traditional Nobile di Montepulciano, an elegant, racy wine, and Syrah, which gives rise to the innovative Syrah di Cortana, a rich, structured wine.
Thanks to meticulous viticulture and winemaking that combine innovation and respect for tradition, La Braccesca has established itself as a benchmark for great Tuscan wines. The clay soils and rather Sec arid climate provide an ideal terroir for the expression of Syrah and Sangiovese. In the winery, traditional methods and cutting-edge technology are combined to bring out the best in the wine, while preserving the family heritage.
Tasting notes:
This cuvée comes from 4 hectares of vines located on the cliffs of Montepulciano. The terroir, rich in sandy loam and fossilized matter, produces a classic, elegant expression of Sangiovese, while conferring a highly recognizable typicity. On the nose, the bouquet is marked by aromas of ripe fruit, spices and licorice. Tertiary notes of tobacco and leather appear after a few minutes' aeration. On the palate, the wine is well structured. The attack is straightforward and the mid-palate is full-bodied. The tannins are velvety, bringing a pleasant roundness to the whole. The finish is fresh and deep.
