Founded in 1385 in Florence, is one of the oldest wine-producing families in the world, playing a key role in promoting Tuscan viticulture and contributing to the international renown of Italian wines.
The family's history is a tale of dedication to winemaking excellence, passed down from generation to generation. Successive family members have combined tradition and innovation, constantly adapting their winemaking practices to stay at the forefront of the industry. Their perseverance has spanned centuries of history, wars and societal change, making the family an immutable pillar of the Italian wine world.
The Domaine extends over a significant number of hectares, with vineyards spread across different regions of Italy. The diversity of terroirs, ranging from Tuscan hills to sunny coasts, offers a range of ideal conditions for different grape varieties. Tenuta Montenisa, owned by the Antinori family since 1999, is one of Italy's leading sparkling wine producers. Located in the heart of the Franciacorta region, in Lombardie, this Domaine combines tradition and innovation to produce exceptional wines.
In the vineyard, traditional grape varieties suitable for sparkling wine production are grown: chardonnay for its typical aromas, pinot noir for its structure and pinot blanc for its minerality. In the cellar, the grapes are then vinified using the "classic" method, such as Champagne, which involves two fermentations, one of which is in the bottle. The wines of Domaine benefit from a 36-month resting period, longer than that recommended by the appellation, and are still stirred individually by hand.
All this care, in the vineyard and in the cellar, enables the Antinori family to produce elegant, refined cuvées of great aromatic finesse.
Tasting notes:
This emblematic cuvée from Domaine is vinified from carefully selected chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot blanc grapes. It comes into the glass dressed in a bright pale yellow color topped with a wispy mousse. The nose is expressive and elegant, with notes of white peach, honeysuckle and citrus. Fine pastry notes are brought out by bottle fermentation, adding complexity. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with incredible vivacity. Fruity and floral flavors express themselves with finesse, supported by a beautiful minerality that lingers on the finish.
