Domaine Pian Delle Vigne, located in Tuscany a few kilometers southwest of Montalcino, has belonged to the Antinori family since 1995. Renowned for its elegant, complex wines, it represents the family's personal interpretation of a prestigious, traditional wine.
The 83 hectares of vines benefit from a climate conducive to the cultivation of Sangiovese, also known locally as Brunello. The predominantly clay-limestone terroir, rich in fossils, lends the wine all its flavor and elegance. In the cellar, Domaine's philosophy is to age the wine in oak barrels. This gives the wine an intense fruity expression and a vibrant elegance characteristic of Brunello.
Thanks to the ancestral know-how of the Antinori family, Domaine Pian delle Vigne is a benchmark in the Montalcino appellation. Producing racy, refined wines of great depth, these will appeal strongly to lovers of great Tuscan wines.
Tasting notes:
This pure Sangiovese, of incredible elegance, expresses all the typicity of its terroir. On the nose, it reveals notes of red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant. Light floral fragrances and subtle hints of blood orange blend in. After aeration, notes of balsamic and eucalyptus add freshness and complexity to the bouquet, much to our delight. On the palate, the wine is marked by great freshness and remarkable drinkability despite its youth. The tannins are very supple, underlining intense aromas of fresh fruit and flowers. The long, flavorful finish is dominated by aromas of blood orange, which linger intensely.
