In a title deed from the Abbey of Citeaux dated February 1365, the name "Cloux des Lambrey" appears for the first time, a spelling which disappeared over time and which today is written "Clos des Lambrays". On a milestone in the wall of sealed Clos des Lambrays appears this same date as a reminder to visitors in homage to time.

Le Clos des Lambrays is located at Morey-Saint-Denis on the prestigious Côte des Nuits. The village of Morey-Saint-Denis has the highest proportion of Grands Crus.

The Clos, one of the Rares and most prestigious Clos de Bourgogne is surrounded by walls and is situated on a gentle ridge on which lies the vineyard of Clos des Lambrays whose oldest vines are over 60 years old. The Clos des Lambrays is planted with Pinot Noir on a very small area of around 8 hectares, a very Rare but sublime production.

The Clos des Lambrays house also produces a Puligny-Montrachet and Clos du Cailleret les Folatieres both in Premier Cru.

The 2022 vintage of the AOC Morey-Saint-Denis Village du Domaine des Lambrays is a wine that perfectly reflects the particular climatic conditions of the year, marked by an early spring and a summer Sec. The harvest, which began on September 8, saw grapes harvested at full maturity, thanks to balanced management of growing conditions, with a yield of 33 hl/ha.

Vinified with long fermentations in wooden vats for three weeks and exclusively using indigenous yeasts, this vintage was aged for 17 months in oak barrels, including 20% new wood. The result is a wine of great elegance, offering expressive, intense aromas. The palate is rich and silky, with a pulpy texture that gives this wine great depth, while preserving remarkable balance.

This Morey-Saint-Denis 2022 is best appreciated after three hours' aeration, without decanting, at a serving temperature of around 16-17°C. Its complexity and structure make it an ideal companion for lovers of red wines with intense, refined profiles.
