Domaine Arlaud

Domaine Arlaud, located on Côte de Nuits, is an emblematic house of the Burgundy region, renowned for its elegant wines and environmentally-friendly practices.

Domaine was born in 1942, when Joseph Arlaud and Renée Amiot married. From a Burgundian family, owner of plots of land at Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey Chambertin, Renée had a dowry consisting of several parcels of vines.

Over the decades, Joseph Arlaud and his descendants continued to expand and develop Domaine, while maintaining high quality standards.

In the 90s, under the leadership of the new generation, a transition to more environmentally-friendly viticulture began. Treatments were rationalized, the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers was stopped, and the soil was worked by horses. This work paid off, as in 2010, Domaine Arlaud obtained Organic Agriculture certification.

In 2013, Cyprien Arlaud succeeded his father, Hervé, at the helm of Domaine. Keen to take the ecological approach even further, in 2014 he enabled Domaine to become the first Domaine to Morey-Saint-Denis to be certified Biodynamic.

Today, with its 15 hectares, Domaine Arlaud comprises 19 appellations, including 4 Grands Crus: Clos de La Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Charmes Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

Description Domaine Arlaud Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru "Aux Chaignots" Cuvée Joseph 2021.

This cuvée was created as a tribute to Joseph Arlaud, founder of Domaine Arlaud. Producing around 800 bottles, this 1er Cru is a true Rareté of the appellation. On the nose, it reveals an expressive bouquet of fresh fruit, floral nuances and a hint of blond tobacco, the typical signature of "Chaignots". On the palate, it charms us with its perfect balance and elegance. The fine tannins have a silky, caressing texture. A light salinity on the finish, combined with fruity notes, prolongs tasting for a seemingly endless moment.
