Château Pontet-Canet

Perched on the heights of the Pauillac appellation, Château Pontet-Canet is one of the Médoc's most essential crus. Its founder, Jean-François de Pontet, esquire to the king and governor of the Médoc, acquired it in 1725, and a few years later his heirs bought the neighboring land at Canet: thus was born Château Pontet-Canet.

Le Domaine was awarded the title of Cinquième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 wine classification officialized for the Paris Universal Exhibition. A decade later, it was acquired by Herman Cruse, a Bordeaux merchant of Danish origin, and underwent a complete renovation.

Description Château Pontet-Canet 2002.

It is a great Pauillac harmoniously balanced between a palette of small red fruits such as black cherry from the Basque country, blackberry gorged with summer sun, black plum with some green tea points finishing on a hint of woody violet

The dress is dark garnet with purple reflections

The mouth is majestic, full and chiseled like a piece of jewelry, the tannins are a splendor, very soft and the finish is long and round.
