The roots of this family of Bourgogne go back to the Middle Ages. The House was only founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot in Monthélie, but it was Albert Bichot, the House's current name, that moved it permanently to Beaune in 1912, in the heart of Bourgogne, not far from the prestigious walls of Hospices de Beaune, where the highly renowned Auction Sales take place every year.
The house currently owns the Domaines de Long-Depaquit en Chablis (65 hectares), du Clos-Frantin en Nuits-Saint-Georges (7.3 hectares), as Château-Gris (3.5 hectares), du Pavillon in Pommard and a few others but not classified as Grand or Premier Cru which our house, true to its Charter, has not retained in its list of Bourgogne wines.
After careful vineyard management, shared with our winegrower suppliers, and meticulous harvesting, the wines are aged in barrels for 12 to 18 months. These barrels are of different origin (Tronçais, Allier...), age and toast, and are used according to their specificities to age the wine in an optimal way. It's an art that only the descendants of these old Burgundian families know, and which they pass on to each other as a precious heritage.
Albert Bichot is not only a personal wine heritage, but also a heritage of close relationships with Burgundian winegrower-deliverers. It's also a heritage of know-how handed down over many centuries. It's a diversity that compels admiration.
The Domaine Long-Depaquit – Maison Albert Bichot Petit Chablis 2024 has a pale color with green highlights and exceptional clarity. The nose is fresh, revealing aromas of lemon, grapefruit, and green apple, accompanied by light floral notes. Upon aeration, a subtle mineral touch evokes damp stone. The palate is lively and direct from the first sip, driven by a crisp acidity that highlights the wine’s clarity. Flavours of citrus and crisp fruit come through with simplicity and precision. The texture is light and fluid. The finish is clean and refreshing, marked by a hint of lemon and a pleasant liveliness.
