Among Guigal's signature wines are those of Côte-Rôtie, an appellation that represents the very essence of Domaine. Côte-Rôtie is famous for its steeply terraced vineyards, schist soils and continental climate. The resulting red wines are elegant, powerful and complex. Guigal offers several Côte-Rôtie cuvées, including the famous "La Mouline", "La Turque" and "La Landonne". These wines are refined expressions of Syrah, with seductive aromas of black fruits, spices, violets and licorice, as well as a remarkable tannic structure. Another iconic Guigal wine is Hermitage, a prestigious appellation located on a hill overlooking the town of Tain-l'Hermitage. E. Guigal La Mouline 2015 embodies the quintessential Côte Blonde terroir, with its Roman amphitheater vines on siliceous and limestone soils. This wine is a blend of 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier, from vines averaging 75 years old.
Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by 4-week maceration, precedes a unique 40-month ageing period in new barrels, guaranteeing exceptional aromatic complexity.
La robe ruby red with vermilion highlights precedes a refined nose with notes of fresh red fruit, wild blackberry and delicate floral aromas such as violet. On the palate, the attack is supple and velvety, with perfect harmony between aromatic finesse and concentrated power.
This voluptuously textured wine reveals remarkable aromatic intensity and exceptional length on the palate, with an aging potential of around 15 years.
Served between 16 and 18°C, it sublimates refined dishes such as rack of veal with morels, roast pigeon with foie gras, or roast lobster with sweet spices, offering a subtle harmony between the delicacy of the dish and the aromatic power of the wine.
