E. Guigal

Guigal has long been synonymous with excellence and renown in the Rhône Valley, and its iconic wines are recognized around the world for their exceptional quality and distinctive character. Founded by Étienne Guigal in 1946, this family-run business has managed to pRéserver a remarkable winegrowing heritage and pass it on from generation to generation.

Among Guigal's signature wines are those of Côte-Rôtie, an appellation that represents the very essence of Domaine. Côte-Rôtie is famous for its steeply terraced vineyards, schist soils and continental climate. The resulting red wines are elegant, powerful and complex. Guigal offers several Côte-Rôtie cuvées, including the famous "La Mouline", "La Turque" and "La Landonne". These wines are refined expressions of Syrah, with seductive aromas of black fruits, spices, violets and licorice, as well as a remarkable tannic structure. They are renowned for their ability to age for many years, developing additional complexity and depth.

Another iconic Guigal wine is Hermitage, a prestigious appellation located on a hill overlooking the town of Tain-l'Hermitage. Hermitage vineyards produce red wines of great distinction, from the Syrah grape variety, as well as elegant white wines, based on Marsanne and Roussanne. Guigal's Hermitage red wines are renowned for their concentration, tannic structure and aromatic complexity. They feature intense aromas of black fruit, spice, licorice and truffle, as well as impressive length on the palate. Guigal's Hermitage white wines are... See more ...

Description E. Guigal La Mouline 2010.

E. Guigal La Mouline 2010 is an exceptional wine from the mythical Côte Blonde terroir, renowned for its Roman amphitheater terraced vineyards. This Cru Rare is a blend of 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier, with vines averaging 70 years of age. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats with traditional pumping-over, followed by a 4-week maceration.

It is then aged for 40 months in new barrels, revealing all the power and aromatic complexity of this exceptional vintage.

To the eye, La robe deep garnet red with crimson highlights announces great concentration.

The intense nose reveals aromas of ripe black fruit, floral notes of peony and violet, and a subtle touch of cocoa and sweet spices.

On the palate, the attack is full and silky, with a velvety texture marked by fine, ripe tannins, offering a perfect balance between opulence and finesse. Remarkably long, with an elegant finish of licorice and truffle.

This grand vin de garde can be kept for over 20 years, gaining in complexity with age.

Served between 16 and 18°C, it is the perfect accompaniment to exceptional dishes such as hare à la royale, beef tenderloin Wellington, or spice-roasted mallard duck, where its aromatic power and depth sublimate every mouthful.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
