E. Guigal La Turque 2004 is an exceptional wine that embodies all the power and elegance of Côte-Rôtie terroir, with the distinctive finesse of Côte Brune. Composed of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier, this vintage comes from vines around 25 years old, grown on silico-limestone soils enriched with iron oxides, giving this cuvée unique depth and aromatic complexity.
Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with automatic punching down, followed by a 4-week maceration. The exceptional 40-month ageing in new barrels allows the wine to develop unparalleled aromatic richness, while retaining remarkable finesse.
Its intense ruby-red color, adorned with dark reflections, heralds a deep, refined nose, combining aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), delicate spices, woody touches and floral notes.
On the palate, the attack is supple, followed by a balanced structure, both powerful and velvety, with silky tannins. This wine reveals the full expression of its terroir with impressive fullness and a long, elegant finish, marked by nuances of cocoa, leather and liquorice.
Ready to evolve for many years to come, this wine can easily be kept for over 20 years.
Served between 16 and 18°C, it goes perfectly with rich, flavorful dishes such as boeuf bourguignon, veal stew or blue-veined cheeses like Roquefort or Bleu d'Auvergne. These pairings will highlight its aromatic complexity and velvety texture.
