Domaine Delas Frères is a true Rhone Valley institution, renowned for the quality and finesse of its wines since it was founded in 1835.
Located in Tournon-sur-Rhône, in the heart of this prestigious wine region, Delas is an emblematic Domaine that has reinvented itself while respecting tradition. This subtle marriage of modernity and heritage is reflected in the precision and elegance of the wines produced, particularly in flagship appellations such as Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph.
One of the pillars of Domaine Delas is the importance given to terroir. The region's soils, mainly granitic and schistose, bring a remarkable minerality to the wines, as well as a solid structure. The Mediterranean climate, influenced by the Mistral, favors optimal ripening of the grapes while preserving their freshness. Delas cultivates vines on steep, often terraced hillsides, making viticulture demanding but allowing the unique characteristics of each plot to be fully captured.
Domaine makes it a point of honor to vinify each plot separately, in order to respect the typicity of each terroir. The result is wines that faithfully reflect their geographical origin. Hailing from a terroir as steep as it is prestigious, Maison Delas’s 2023 Condrieu “Clos Boucher” brilliantly embodies the quintessence of northern Viognier. Born on the steep granite slopes of the Condrieu appellation, this exclusive wine comes from a south-facing plot where the vines draw intensity and complexity. Produced in very limited quantities, this single-vineyard cuvée reveals rare precision and depth. After pressing, the musts are fermented entirely in new oak barrels. This is followed by aging on fine lees for six months with bâtonnage.
On the nose, the aroma is intensely aromatic, evoking a generous palette of ripe fruits: candied peach and apricot, accented by exotic notes reminiscent of pineapple and mango, all subtly enveloped by perfectly controlled barrel aging. The palate stands out for its richness and fullness. The texture, both dense and silky, displays remarkable concentration with elegance. The fine lees contribute a creamy texture, while subtly integrated oak highlights the structure and extends the aromatic finish with distinction.
A great white wine from the Rhône Valley, both powerful and refined, that will appeal to connoisseurs seeking intense emotions and authenticity.
A true wine for fine dining, this Condrieu pairs harmoniously with delicate dishes such as asparagus, premium fish topped with a butter sauce, or roasted poultry with citrus notes.
