The Domaine Hubert Lamy is a highly reputed Domaine from Burgundy, located on Côte de Beaune at Saint-Aubin. An essential reference, it was created in 1973 by Hubert Lamy, then owner of 8 hectares of vines at Saint-Aubin.
Today, Domaine is run by Hubert's son Olivier, and has grown significantly, comprising 18 hectares of vines spread over the Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay appellations.
Olivier, renowned for his rigorous and innovative approach, focuses on environmentally-friendly viticulture to express the full complexity of Bourgogne's climates. The result is wines of great purity that perfectly express their exceptional terroir.
The Saint-Aubin Premier Cru "Derrière chez Édouard" 2023 from Domaine Hubert Lamy is a concentrate of finesse and subtlety. It reveals itself adorned with a pale yellow, crystalline color with greenish highlights. On the nose, it exudes a bouquet of great purity, blending delicate scents of vine blossom, fruit, and toasted hazelnuts, adding a toasty, indulgent touch. In the background, a slight, almost imperceptible minerality underscores the complexity and finesse of this aromatic profile. When brought to the lips, the wine seduces with its vibrant and fresh attack. The silky mid-palate is carried by intense aromas of peach, pear, and candied apricot. The slightly lemony finish gives the wine remarkable persistence.
This Saint-Aubin "Derrière chez Édouard" 2023 offers an incredible sensory experience. It perfectly embodies the balance and subtlety that have made the reputation of the great wines of Burgundy, and can be enjoyed today, while promising to evolve beautifully in the cellar.
