Clos Haut-Peyraguey 2020, the smallest of the Sauternes 1er Grands Crus Classés, extends over 8.5 hectares in a single block in Bommes, opposite Yquem's Château. This historic vineyard, planted mainly with Semillon (95%) with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc (5%), rests on gravelly-sandy soils with a clay subsoil.
With an average age of 40 years, the vines are cultivated according to reasoned, manual practices, with harvesting by successive sorting to guarantee optimum quality. Careful vinification, including temperature-controlled settling and barrel ageing, reveals all the complexity and elegance of this great sweet wine.
Bottled in spring 2022, it benefits from the expertise of oenologist Michel Rolland.
