Dubosquet

House Dubosquet, located not far from Saintes in the heart of this deep Saintonge, a Roman city with limestone soils where the Romans planted their first vines in Gaul at the very beginning of our era.

It could have become the capital of Cognac, but Saintes, with its Roman-era arena and Arc de Triomphe, had to take a back seat to its rival Cognac, which later gave its name to France's most famous brandy at the end of the 19th century.

This is a very old family from the Cognac region, whose roots go back as far as 1640, according to French national archives.

This house produces Cognacs Grande Champagne, classified Premier Cru de Cognac.

Description Dubosquet 1988.

Despite a marked drought, the months of August and September saw beneficial rainfall which favored the ripening of the grapes on the chalky slopes of Grande Champagne Premier Cru de Cognac to give very perfumed wines whose concentrated fragrances can be found 30 years later.

The robe is amber and brilliant.

In the nose as in the mouth, a very great length on fragrances of white flowers such as spring hawthorn, linden, pear, cherry and undergrowth in the first attack. The second attack of flavors reveals candied fruits like pink apricot of Carpentras, plum of Ente, with touches of leather, chocolate and especially vanilla mocha.

To be enjoyed at the end of a meal with friends and family on chocolate cake or dark chocolate squares or chocolate truffles. It is the ideal vintage of cognac to share while listening to your favorite music, smelling the tulip-shaped glass and drinking from time to time, keeping the glass at the bottom of your palm to capture the layers of fragrances and tastes of this exceptional cognac.
