The history of Mac-Talla is inseparable from that of the Morrison family, one of Islay's oldest distilling dynasties. Mac-Talla Virgin Oak 2025 Limited Edition is an exceptional peated single malt, where the boldness of Islay meets the captivating warmth of new oak barrels, resulting in a limited edition of rare intensity.
The nose is an explosion of generosity: vibrant spices, the sweetness of vanilla, the roundness of caramelized apple, the depth of muscovado sugar and the captivating presence of peat come together for a first impression that is both powerful and indulgent.
On the palate, an enveloping sweetness: melt-in-the-mouth dried fruit, the creaminess of caramel pudding and a subtle touch of peat create a rich and comforting harmony.
The long and persistent finish allows warm spices to blossom, for a conclusion that is both vibrant and memorable.
This whisky embodies the wild and authentic spirit of Mac-Talla, echoing the rugged landscapes of Islay. Made from 100% malted barley and distilled twice in swan-neck stills, it is aged for several years in bourbon casks and new American oak casks, which have been intensely charred (Char #4) by Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky. After careful blending, it is refined for several months in these same new oak barrels, for a unique aromatic intensity. Unchillfiltered and bottled at 15 PPM, this limited edition 2025 combines the iconic peaty power of Islay with the vanilla and spicy sweetness of new barrels, for an unforgettable tasting experience.
