On the nose, the first impression is smoky and enveloping, with powerful yet elegant peat notes reminiscent of the peat fires of Islay distilleries and sea spray. Notes of olive oil quickly follow, then ginger and chocolate. In the background, notes of freshly cut grass add a refined complexity, while a touch of beeswax recalls the oak barrel aging. On the palate, the attack is powerful and creamy, with a velvety texture that caresses the palate. The peat, ever-present, expresses itself here with finesse, accompanied by an explosion of spices: black pepper, cardamom, and ginger, which blend with notes of salted caramel, dark chocolate, and candied fruit. A hint of lime and green apple brings a tangy freshness, balancing the smoky depth. The oak, perfectly integrated, offers an elegant structure and a captivating length. The long and persistent finish leaves a roasted impression.
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old – Batch 6 is a work of balance and mastery. It perfectly embodies the Ardbeg DNA: powerful and captivating peat, combined with aromatic complexity and rare elegance.
