Château Potensac

This magnificent estate has a rich history, a deep family tradition and an exceptional Domaine that make it a major player in the Médoc appellation and the French wine industry as a whole.

The history of Château dates back to the 18th century, when the Delon family acquired the property in 1750. Since then, the Delon family has played a key role in the preservation and development of this Domaine winery. Specifically, family member Jean-Hubert Delon has managed the estate and been the driving force behind its rise to world renown. His commitment to quality and winemaking tradition is deeply rooted in the history of the Delon family and Château.

The Domaine covers around 84 hectares of vines, mainly planted with Bordeaux's traditional grape varieties, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. These vineyards benefit from an exceptional terroir, characterized by clay-limestone soils, which contribute to the complexity and finesse of the wines produced.

The specialty of Château Potensac lies in the production of Médoc red wines of great elegance and longevity. Potensac Domaine is particularly renowned for its resolutely traditional approach to winemaking, which includes fermentation in oak vats and aging in French oak barrels. This method gives the wines a refined tannic structure, aromatic depth and the ability to age beautifully over the years.

Also recognized for its ability to produce wines that faithfully reflect the Médoc terroir, with a perfect balance between power and finesse. His wines are elegant, expressive, and show great consistency vintage after vintage.
