François Peyrot

Since 1893, the Peyrot family has cultivated an unshakeable passion for the vine and the land. It all began with Jean Baptiste, our great-grandfather, who instilled this love of terroir in his descendants. Read more

François Peyrot

It was in 1956 that our grandparents, Jean and Mathilde, really launched the adventure, devoting themselves to the distillation and production of Cognac, on a Domaine that then covered 7 hectares. Their production was mainly destined for the regional trade, but their ambition and dedication enabled them to gradually expand the vineyard.

In 1970, our parents, François and Gisèle, decided to create their own brand. In July 1971, they marketed their first bottle, a VSOP, under the name "Cognac François Peyrot". Today, we proudly perpetuate this heritage, respecting the skills and know-how handed down by our elders. Every day, we strive to produce a Cognac that embodies our family's love, hard work and perseverance.

Our philosophy is based on respect for the vines and the environment. For the past 45 years, we have put quality before quantity, adopting ecological and sustainable practices. Our "culture raisonnée" approach favors the natural balance of flora and fauna, thanks to grass cover that eliminates the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. This approach, combined with rational vineyard management, enables us to control our production costs while preserving our ecosystem.

In the unique atmosphere of our cellars, where the aromas of wood and alcohol mingle with "the angels' share", the mystery of our Cognac is revealed. Under the expert eye of our cellar master, fragrances are revealed in the half-light and humidity characteristic of these sacred places. This is where the inimitable bouquet of our Cognac is born.

An artisan liqueur-maker, our father François has also developed, since 1970, a varied range of liqueurs at Cognac Grande Champagne. Every day, I work alongside him to perfect these precious creations. Our naturally-produced liqueurs are the result of a skilful blend of natural fruit flavours and Cognac. Our most famous and award-winning liqueur, the Poire Williams, requires no less than 14 kg of Poire Williams per bottle.

"Cognac is not just a matter of taste, it's a matter of Art" (Nathalie). And it is with this conviction that we continue to write the history of Maison François Peyrot, cultivating our passion for this ancestral art every day.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
