In 1875, Sverre Braastad, the patriarch, founded Maison Braastad. Since then, the family has continued to pass on its expertise from generation to generation, perpetuating the family legacy in the world of Cognac.
The Domaine spans acres of lush vineyards in the Cognac region of Charente. The vines are planted in clay-limestone soils and benefit from the region's mild, sunny climate, ideal for growing the grape varieties of the Cognac appellation, principally Ugni Blanc.
The unique terroir of the Cognac region, with its limestone soils, contributes to the aromatic richness and complexity of the eaux-de-vie produced. Traditional cultivation methods are used to ensure the quality of the grapes, an essential element in the production of top-quality Cognac.
