The family story is a tale of commitment and passion for the art of Cognac. The Braastad family, of Norwegian origin, settled in the Cognac region in the 19th century. In 1875, Sverre Braastad, the patriarch, founded Maison Braastad. Since then, the family has continued to pass on its expertise from generation to generation, perpetuating the family legacy in the world of Cognac.
The Domaine spans acres of lush vineyards in the Cognac region of Charente. The vines are planted in clay-limestone soils and benefit from the region's mild, sunny climate, ideal for growing the grape varieties of the Cognac appellation, principally Ugni Blanc.
The unique terroir of the Cognac region, with its limestone soils, contributes to the aromatic richness and complexity of the eaux-de-vie produced. Traditional cultivation methods are used to ensure the quality of the grapes, an essential element in the production of top-quality Cognac.

This XO Superior is an exclusive collection of well-aged Cognacs from the Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois regions.
Each of the selected Cognacs has aged for 15 to 25 years in the family's private cellars.
The XO Superior was entered for the first time in the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London in 2007, and master blender Richard Braastad was proud to receive the silver medal.
