Description Château de Beaucastel 2009.

Renowned for its balance, elegance and remarkable ageing potential, the 2009 vintage of Château de Beaucastel is a shining testament to the expertise and know-how of Domaine.

The vineyard, set in a rich and diverse terroir of rolled pebbles, clay, sand and limestone, benefits from ancient vines whose roots plunge deep into the soil. This richness of terroir is reflected in the character of the wine.

When it comes to ageing, each of the thirteen grape varieties is harvested separately by hand, in order to respect their individual characteristics. Vinification is carried out in truncated-conical vats for the reducing grape varieties, and in traditional vats for the oxidative grape varieties. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak foudres for a year, a crucial stage for the different grape varieties to harmonize.

To the eye, the Château de Beaucastel 2009 has an almost black color, a testament to its concentration and richness. The nose is both fine and powerful, offering aromas of red fruits, spices and garrigue. On the palate, the attack is magnificent, full and supple, with flavors of fig, cherry, blackberry and stewed fruit, supported by fine acidity. The tannins are present but extremely fine, contributing to the wine's structure and complexity.

Served around 15°C and ideally decanted, this great vintage of Beaucastel is a privileged choice for connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional wines. With its perfect balance and aromatic complexity, it is without doubt one of the best representatives of its appellation and year.
