Henri Abelé

Henri Abelé

The Champagne Henri Abelé embodies a rich history, an exceptional winemaking tradition and a relentless quest for quality and elegance. Founded in 1757, this prestigious Champagne house located in Reims, in the heart of the Champagne, is a living testament to the family heritage and passion for the art of making Champagnes.

The history of the Abelé family goes back centuries, when the eponymous family laid the foundations of what would become an iconic Champagne house. This deep history is marked by generations of passionate winemakers, determined to create Champagnes of excellence.

Terroir is at the heart of the identity of its exceptional Champagnes. The vineyards extend over several hectares in the renowned Montagne de Reims region, where the chalky soils characteristic of the Champagne provide an ideal environment for growing the region's emblematic grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

The grape varieties reflect the diversity of the Champagne. Grape varieties are carefully selected and cultivated with dedication, to create balanced, complex blends that illustrate the unique character of each cuvée.

Manufacturing methods are the fruit of a combination of tradition and innovation. Harvesting is carried out by hand to ensure meticulous selection of the ripest, healthiest grapes. Vinification takes place with precision, combining the use of modern techniques with a deep respect for traditional Champagne methods.

The Champagnes are aged in stainless steel vats and bottles, where the cuvées acquire complexity and finesse over time. This prolonged cellaring phase gives Henri Abelé Champagnes their signature aromas and silky texture.

Location in Reims is of crucial importance. Reims, capital of Champagne, is the historic cradle of Champagne production. The imprint of this prestigious city can be found in every bottle, reinforcing the link between the region's exceptional terroir and age-old tradition.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
