What is the history of Maison Pierre Gimonnet?
It's around 1750 that we can find in the archives traces of the Gimonnets as winegrowers in Champagne, where they deliver their harvest to the Champagne trade. From generation to generation, they passed on their love of the vine. It wasn't until 1935 that Pierre Gimonnet began its own winemaking business. Michel, Pierre's son, joined the business in 1955. His passion and pragmatism enabled him to be a pioneer in parcel-based vinification, giving each terroir the opportunity to fully express itself. Today, Olivier and Didier Gimonnet embody the third generation, worthy heirs to an exceptional savoir-faire.

Description Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Cuvée Fleuron 2017.
Flagship, since elaborated solely during the best years/vintages.
This Champagne is a blend composed like a symphony with wines from a single year and thus named ‘Millésime’.
It also is a blend of plots like buissons, gros monts, fond du bateau, hautes bauves or basses vignes and croix-blanche classified Grand or Premier Cru exclusively.
The harvest is done by hand.
The colour is a sustained bronze.
The nose and mouth are balance with art and expertise to give complexity marked with a fine vinosity brought by Pinot Noir mainly Grands Crus. The “Pierre Gimonnet” freshness is indeed here.
Will fit perfectly well as an aperitif or even throughout a meal composed of seafood, white meats or red meats like a rack of lamb.
A great Champagne with excellent potential of ageing in a cool cellar, away from light and bottle laid flat.
