J. L. Vergnon

Champagne JL Vergnon, five generations for almost two centuries in the same house that first housed Regnault Frères, one of whose descendants Elizabeth Regnault married a Vergnon.

From this union a son Jean-Louis was born, who in the 1950s recreated the vineyard on Côte des blancs in Mesnil sur Oger and gave this Maison  the name Champagne JL Vergnon that we know today.

Alain, his son took up the torch in 1979, followed today by Didier and Brigitte supported by renowned oenologist Christophe Constant.

Located in the heart of the Côte des blancs region, Maison Vergnon produces its Champagnes from grapes harvested on its vineyards, all exclusively located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger and Avize, all classified Grand Cru and planted exclusively with Chardonnay grapes.

Description J.L. Vergnon Eloquence Extra Brut.

It is a champagne made from a blend of grapes harvested on the Grands Crus of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger and Avize coming exclusively from the Grand Cru vineyards of the House and from different years.

Aged more than three years in the cellars of the House.

The color is pale gold with silver and green reflections

On the nose: notes of almond, orgeat and grapefruit. The second attack on the nose after a few moments is more mineral and iodized with touches of vanilla and toasted brioche with a final of dried flowers and honey.

The attack in mouth is mineral and saline with a creamy expression. The final is long and oriented on chalky touch, a proof of the authenticity of the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs of the Champagne Region.

To be served around 8 to 10°C.

An excellent aperitif champagne with caviar canapés but also on a seafood platter. Also suitable with sushi or carpaccio of smoked salmon or lobster medallions.
