Cognac Normandin-Mercier, it's an old 18th-century dwelling nestled in the saintongeaise countryside surrounded by cellars where the treasures of this House dating from the Second French Empire under Napoléon III sleep.

Created in 1872, today a fifth generation is looking after this long-established heritage, hidden not far from La Rochelle,  "the rebel city" with its headquarters by Louis XIII and Richelieu, the port of origin for the first shipments of wines and then later in the 17th century of brandies distilled in its hinterland named Cognac from the mid-19th century onwards.

This is where Premiers Grands Crus, true to its Quality Charter, has unearthed this gem of Cognac.

Description Normandin-Mercier VSOP.

Young, fruity eau de vie with subtle floral notes, sometimes honeysuckle, sometimes violet.

Dominantly dry straw very slightly spicy with a touch of licorice.

Good attack, lively, notes of hay and violet.

Fat but clean mouthfeel.

Good finish without aggressiveness or sweetness.

Well suited to aperitif or Long drink: Cognac ice, Cognac Tonic, cocktails (Summit, Pinklove, etc...)
