Description Château de Beaucastel 2021.

The Château de Beaucastel 2021 embodies the excellence of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.

Recognized for its balance, elegance and ageing capacity, this wine reflects the perfect harmony between tradition and innovation. Located in an exceptional terroir, exposed to the Mistral and rich in soil diversity - galets roulés, clays, sands and limestone - Château Beaucastel benefits from biodynamic viticulture practiced since the 1960s, a guarantee of quality and respect for the environment.

The 2021 vintage, marked by freshness, was distinguished by necessary and decisive human intervention. Climatic challenges, including an episode of frost in April and rain during the harvest, required constant attention and dedication from the teams. Today, these efforts are reflected in a promising, fresh and balanced wine.

The Beaucastel vineyard, spread over 110 hectares in a single block to the north of the appellation, cultivates the thirteen grape varieties authorized by the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately, in order to respect its specific characteristics. Vinification in truncated wooden vats for reducing grape varieties and in traditional concrete and enamelled stoneware vats for oxidative grape varieties testifies to a meticulous approach adapted to each variety.

In terms of blending, this cuvée is made up of Grenache and Mourvèdre at 30% each, followed by Syrah (15%), Counoise (10%), Cinsaut (5%) and various other varieties rounding out the remaining 10%.

Served around 15°C after a recommended decanting, Beaucastel 2021 Château is adorned with a magnificent red color with violet highlights. The nose offers a remarkable balance between maturity and freshness, with abundant notes of fresh fruit and spices. On the palate, the wine is elegant, full-bodied and silky, opening onto spicy garrigue flavors and revealing a perfect balance between tannic richness and delicate roundness. The long finish heralds impressive ageing potential.
