Today, the Grand Corbin vineyard covers 37 hectares in a single block, 28.5 hectares of which are Grand Crus Classés de Saint Emilion.
The necessary resources have been invested to modernize the infrastructures and embellish the late 19th-century building, no pharaonic works, the main thing being to equip ourselves with a high-performance technical tool and offer a warm welcome to visitors.
Since July 2021, Domaine has been managed by the SMA Group, which includes Château Cantemerle, Grand Cru Classé Haut Médoc.
Vineyard area: 37 ha (28.5 Classés, 8.5 ha Grand Cru)
Annual production: 200,000 bottles
Variety: 80% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Terroir: silica on blue clay beds
The estate’s northern exposure is a great asset in particularly hot and dry summers.
2022 is a blend of this diversity, with the small berries picked at the bottom of the hillside bringing concentration and colour, and the larger Merlot and Cabernet Franc berries from the top of the plateau giving the wine a beautiful aromatic radiance and smooth texture.
The work put in place with Axel Marchal, increasingly precise plot selection in particular, has resulted in one of the finest vintages of Grand Corbin.
The clean, bright fruit is carried far by the soft structure of the tannins.
The round and flavourful palate gives the wine lots of generosity.
The balance is perfectly judged and precise.
