Lombard
Created in 1925, Maison Lombard is a family-run Domaine located in Epernay. The vineyard has been in organic conversion since 2018.
Thomas Lombard has come up with a series of single-vineyard, plot-based Champagnes, made mainly from Premier and Grand Cru in the Secteur of the Montagne de Reims West.
All cuvées are Brut nature or Extra-Brut, to reveal the identity of each place with authenticity.
Description Lombard Brut Nature Cramant.
The Champagne Brut nature Cramant Grand Cru from Maison Lombard is a Champagne that brilliantly embodies the elegance and richness of Grand Cru from Cramant.
This 100% Chardonnay, from an east-facing clay-limestone terroir, indeed offers a very fine glimpse of the exceptional qualities of this exceptional cru in Côte des blancs.
Without any Réserve wine added, this Brut nature cuvée reveals the purity and freshness of Chardonnay. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and malolactic fermentation is deliberately blocked, preserving the energy and richness characteristic of the terroir. Unfined and aged between 6 and 8 months in stainless steel tanks, this Champagne is then aged for a minimum of 48 months in the cellars of Maison Lombard in Épernay, allowing it to develop remarkable complexity and roundness.
On the palate, it stands out for its round, gourmand notes, true to the profile of the Chardonnay grown on Cramant. The vineyard's well-drained soils and favorable sunshine favor the development of rich ripeness, resulting in brioche-like, pastry-like accents and sweet spice notes on the palate. Despite this richness, the cuvée retains exceptional freshness and delicacy.
Unbalanced, this Champagne expresses its full, mineral identity without artifice, allowing connoisseurs to discover the quintessence of its Grand Cru terroir.
