Château Troplong Mondot

As one of the spearheads of the Saint-Emilion appellation, Château Troplong-Mondot is a role model, with the quality of its wines born above all from passion. Established on the highest point of the appellation, it was originally called Château Mondot and belonged to Romain Desèze, defender of King Louis XVI.

It was then owned by Raymond Troplong, a lawyer and politician, who acquired it in 1850 and gave it its definitive name.

The Troplong-Mondot success story is unquestionably linked to the Valette family, merchants at Bordeaux, who bought it in the 1920s. From the 1980s onwards, Christine Valette-Pariente and her husband Xavier Paliente guided Domaine towards excellence, placing it in the pantheon of great wines.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
