The Château Chasse-Spleen is an emblematic Domaine vineyard located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, in the Bordeaux region. Famous for the exceptional quality of its wines, Château has a rich history and benefits from a unique terroir.
The history of Château Chasse-Spleen dates back to the 18th century, when the Foixe-Bordeaux family founded the estate. However, it was in the 19th century that Château began to make a name for itself, thanks to the Cruse family, who acquired the property in 1850. The Cruses, a family of Bordeaux merchants, invested in the vineyard and facilities, improving the quality of the wines produced by Château.

Climate
Rain begins in September and ends in December. Abnormally mild weather begins in January and ends in late February. The first COVID confinement takes place under radiant sunshine and high temperatures.
In mid-April, dense, heavy rainfall began, compromising wine-making operations. June was wet and mildew threatened (again!). A superb summer halted it, but became too hot in late August and early September.
Our cool subsoils save the day for Cabernet Sauvignon. The harvest skies are gray, but the rains are Rares.
Tasting notes
Dark Bordeaux. Brilliant and limpid.
On the nose, aromas of black pepper, candied mandarin peel, blackberry. On the palate, enveloping fullness, very fine tannins. Good balance. Supple, unctuous wine, roasted notes with a light vanilla note. Ripe jelly finish.
