Hennessy

The Cognac Hennessy is one of the world's most prestigious Cognac houses, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and the outstanding quality of its eaux-de-vie. Founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, this house has a long history and an unrivalled tradition in the production of Cognac.

The history of the Hennessy family dates back to the 18th century, when Richard Hennessy, an Irish officer in the service of the King of France, decided to settle in Cognac, in the Charente region, to set up in the brandy trade. Drawing on his expertise and knowledge of the market, Richard Hennessy quickly made a name for himself, producing Cognacs of exceptional quality.

Over the generations, the Hennessy family has passed on its winemaking know-how and heritage, contributing to the worldwide renown of the house of Cognac. Today, Hennessy belongs to the luxury group LVMH, while remaining true to its values of excellence and tradition.

The terroir of the Charente region is a fundamental element in the production of Cognac Hennessy. Vineyards extend over some 70,000 hectares, covering six appellation contrôlée zones, the most prestigious of which are the crus of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. These terroirs, characterized by limestone soil, benefit from a moderate oceanic climate, creating ideal conditions for growing the Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and CoLombard grape varieties.

Description Hennessy Paradis Magnum.

This is a Cognac blend of several Cognacs from several crus in the Cognac delimited region, aged over 25 years.

Available in 0.70-liter and Magnum 1.5 liters, it was in 1979 that Maurice Fillioux gave birth to Cognac Hennessy Paradis, renowned for its velvety, balanced aroma.

The Paradis cuvée was created in 1979 by Maurice Fillioux, then cellar master at Hennessy. Celebrated for its smooth, harmonious aroma, it is crafted from a selection of over one hundred distinct eaux-de-vie.

The Paradis represents the oldest part of the cellar, housing the most refined and ancient eaux-de-vie.

This remarkably deep and elegant Cognac is adorned with a coppery gold hue that bears witness to the long years spent in aged casks.

Floral scents mingle with red fruit notes and subtle spices. On the palate, this Cognac has a silky, persistent texture evoking dried flowers, truffles and sweet spices.

Finally, nuances of cinnamon and cardamom blend harmoniously with aromas of dried roses and heather jam.

This exceptional Cognac pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes, such as grilled lobster tails or a dessert like frozen nougat with almonds, pistachios and candied fruit.
