Frapin

Installed in southwest France since 1270, the Frapin family has been winemakers, then distillers for over twenty generations, owning a 240-hectare Vineyard in Grande Champagne.

It's Grande Champagne, classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac Region, that will become the chosen land of this family settled at Château de Fontpinot.

In its family tree, the Frapin family includes the famous 16th-century writer Antoine Rabelais. In a nod to history, Maison Frapin's logo features the writer's golden feather.

The wines are distilled with the lees at Frapin. After the traditional double distillation known as "Charentaise", the newly distilled eaux de vie are housed for a quarter in new barrels and for the rest in red or older barrels.

The Frapin house produces a wide range of Cognacs, the oldest of which date back to 1888.

Description Frapin Cigar Blend.

A Cognac with fragrances much appreciated by cigar lovers.

It is a Grande Champagne Cognac classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac region and comes exclusively from the Frapin family vineyard, planted with Ugni-Blanc grapes in the heart of this terroir.

Distilled on the lees and then aged in oak barrels from Limousin, a province renowned for its tightly grained oaks, the toasting of which reveals sumptuous vanilla tannins, this Cognac has complex fragrances that blend happily with cigar leaf.

Color: The warm golden reflections give a beautiful straw yellow color that reflects its aging in oak barrels.

To the nose: its aromas of vine flower and lime blossom with a touch of vanilla are a testimony to its great aromatic richness.

In the mouth: beautiful roundness, a richness of flavors and a perfect balance. Long in the mouth with slightly vanilla or toasted bread aromas. It will bring a note of freshness and originality.

To be enjoyed at room temperature either neat or on a cube of ice or with a citrus schweppes.

Membership in the club is granted only upon sponsorship by one or more existing members.

The “Spécial Club” cuvée

Being a member of this highly exclusiveclub allows winemakers to produce a unique, vintage-dated prestige cuvée: the Spécial Club. Recognized as the ultimate symbol of their expertise, this cuvée undergoes a rigorous process to ensure impeccable quality.

To earn this coveted “label,” each bottle must pass through rigorous stages:

  • Ultra-strict specifications demanding authenticity and perfection.
  • Two successive blind tastings, conducted by a jury of five independent oenologists.
  • A unanimous verdict: The quality of the cuvée must receive the absolute unanimous approval of the jury to be entitled to bear the name “Spécial Club.”
