This year 2022 will be remembered as a year punctuated by strategic choices and adaptations in the face of extreme weather conditions!
A historically early vintage.
We'll have to remember the incredible resilience of vines and men.
The winter of 2022 proved Sec, with 513mm of rain compared with 788 on average. The beginning of April is again marked by a cold snap. May began very mildly (+2.5°C above seasonal normals). The first Merlot flowers appeared on May 17. Flowering was explosive and uniform. Veraison began in mid-July, in a hot, dry climate.
The bright summer of Sec anchored the 2022 vintage in its typicality.
The harvest took place in ideal conditions from September 9 to 27, under a magnificent Indian summer.
The grapes were of exceptional quality, with anthological phenolic richness! Vinification was gentle. The key to this vintage's success is the goldsmith's work orchestrated by the entire team at Château Le Bon Pasteur.

"An intense, deep color with purple highlights. The fine, complex nose reveals notes of violets and licorice, black fruit aromas of remarkable maturity. On the palate, the attack is both suave and fleshy, revealing tannins of great precision, elegant and particularly silky and fresh. The finish is of great purity, with an inimitable length that expresses all the nobility of Château Le Bon Pasteur."
