Château Minuty

Château Minuty

It was Gabriel Farnet who completely replanted Domaine and restored to its former glory Château Minuty, built under Napoléon III, as well as the little chapel that would give its name to Cuvée de l'Oratoire, long the emblem of Château.

1930 - The Birth of Château Minuty.

1955, Château Minuty is one of 23 properties to be distinguished as Cru Classé from Côtes de Provence.

1960 - The replanting of Château Minuty:

Monique Farnet, daughter of Gabriel, and her husband Etienne Matton replanted traditional Provencal grape varieties (tibouren, rolle, grenache) and initiated limited, low yields for high quality winemaking.

1990 - Minuty's influence:

Today, Jean-Etienne and François Matton, the children, a third generation have taken over. They continue to restructure the vineyard  replacing carignan and ugni blanc with grenache and rolle.

A 70-hectare Domaine under integrated farming with annual production around 500,000 bottles depending on the year. Average age of the vines is 25 years, on shist soils.

Description Château Minuty - Rosé et Or 2023.

This cuvée Rosé & Or, in the Côtes de Provence appellation, is the fruit of the desire to push even further the quest for delicacy, elegance and aromatic generosity, while respecting the "Minuty" know-how and signature. It comes from vines grown on the estate's 3 terroirs - schist, clay and sand - and is the result of a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Tibouren (an old local variety). To ensure these quality objectives are met, the grapes are always harvested by hand, only free-run juice is selected, alcoholic fermentation is carried out at low temperature and malolactic fermentation is blocked.

The wine is elegant, spherical and saline. Its color is a beautiful pale pink with golden highlights. The nose is fine and delicate, with aromas of white fruit, citrus and fresh, complex notes of garrigue. The palate is suave and airy; its minerality confirms this particular freshness and combines it with a lovely, clean, long-lasting salinity.

This Côtes de Provence Rosé Château Minuty Rosé & Or 2023 is supple and generous, a perfect accompaniment to seafood such as oysters from Marennes Oléron, Florida shrimps, crab from Brittany... but you can also pair it with a good rougail from La Réunion, to sublimate its spices.
