Barons de Rothschild

Passionate about France's finest terroirs, since 2005 the three branches of the Rothschild Family - represented by Baron Philippe Sereys de Rothschild (Château Mouton Rothschild), baron Benjamin and his wife Ariane (Château Clarke - Groupe Edmond de Rothschild), Baron Éric and his daughter Saskia (Château Lafitte Rothschild) - are uniting, for the first time around a common will, in the creation of an exceptional Champagne wine.

The House credo: "The first quality must be absolute elegance!"

The Family's personal and original interpretation of this Grand Vin de Champagne involves a very "chardonnay" style.

The latter represents over 70% of the House's supplies, only in Premier Cru and Grand Cru.

And to claim the purest possible expression of the nobility of these juices, dosages are minimalist.

Description Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs.

This is a 100% Chardonnay, all from Grands and Premiers crus, mainly from villages Avize, Oger and le Mesnil sur Oger. Wines from Réserve, a large proportion of which come from the perpetual Réserve, account for 40% of the blend for this cuvée.

The wine is aged on fine lees for 6/7 months in small vats.

Aging on laths, after bottling, is 3/4 years.

After disgorging, dosage at 6g/L is practiced, followed by a 6-month rest period.

The first nose is very intense, eXOtique, with passion fruit, mango.

Then notes of fruit Secs, toasted almonds settle in before finishing with generous aromas of butter, brioche and pastry.

The attack on the palate is frank, lemony, full of freshness.

The character then reveals itself with coffee, roasting and sweet spices, before ending on a saline, finesse finish.

This Blanc de blancs will pair perfectly with a grilled sea bass with dill, or a lovely lemon tart.
