Godet

Godet is a Maison de Commerce de Cognac founded in 1782, but earlier archives allow us to go back as far as 1550, when Bonnaventure Godet from the Netherlands set up a wine business on the Quai de La Rochelle.

Later, Jean Godet, ennobled by King Louis XIV of France, was Mayor for life of Fontenais.

In 1782, in the 7th generation, Maison Godet was entered in the Trade Register as a trader in Cognac, a key act authenticating this house.

Today, Maison Godet is run by the fifteenth generation, still based in La Rochelle.

Description Godet Extra.

To compose this marvelous eau-de-vie, a living memory of his ancestors, Jean-Edouard Godet used his best batches dating from the 20th century, drawing with emotion from the barrels of Jacques, his grandfather, and Jean, his great-grandfather. The result is a blend of Cognacs aged from 16 to 47 years from the prestigious terroirs of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois.

This Cognac Extra is bottled in a sublime handcrafted decanter topped with a magnificent fan-shaped cork. The decanter is hand-personalized with a gold thread that delicately wraps around the neck.

The finest connoisseurs will appreciate an eau-de-vie with a deep amber color and an intense floral bouquet Rare: an explosion of dried flowers unfolds in the glass. Notes of citrus peel and spice are also discernible, all in a sensual, heady harmonious whole.

Its presence on the palate is sensual and rich, sweetly complex in flavor with fine spicy notes and nuances of dried flowers. These floral aromas persist into a long, full-bodied finish. A digestif of nobility and elegance Rares.
