Cognac aged in cellars for more than 60 years. Gilded with 18-carat rose gold.
Frapin
Installed in southwest France since 1270, the Frapin family has been winemakers, then distillers for over twenty generations, owning a 240-hectare Vineyard in Grande Champagne.
It's Grande Champagne, classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac Region, that will become the chosen land of this family settled at Château de Fontpinot.
In its family tree, the Frapin family includes the famous 16th-century writer Antoine Rabelais. In a nod to history, Maison Frapin's logo features the writer's golden feather.
The wines are distilled with the lees at Frapin. After the traditional double distillation known as "Charentaise", the newly distilled eaux de vie are housed for a quarter in new barrels and for the rest in red or older barrels.
The Frapin house produces a wide range of Cognacs, the oldest of which date back to 1888.
Description Frapin Plume.
A true quintessence of the know-how of the Cellar Masters who built the reputation of the House, imagined as a tribute to François Rabelais, son of Anne-Catherine Frapin, ancestor of the family settled on its current land since 1270.
A blend of more than twenty cognacs, the "Plume" cognac is exclusively Grande Champagne, classified as a Premier Cru in the Cognac region, and has been aged in the cellar for more than 60 years in hundred-year-old barrels.
Limited edition of 500 numbered pieces. The stopper and the feathers of this decanter are gilded with 18-carat rose gold.
The robe is orange-brown with mahogany reflections.
On the nose, there is a powerful and complex bouquet of fine fruity notes of dried apricot, fig, orange, licorice, Virginia blond tobacco and hints of cedar of Lebanon cigar box.
In the mouth, this Cognac reveals woody notes, prunes and candied fruits. The length in mouth is exceptional.
The tasting is extremely evolutive. For an optimal tasting, take the time to taste it by letting it air and capture the many layers of perfumes and flavors.
