Painturaud Frères

Founded in 1804, the estate was rebuilt and operated at the end of the XIXᵉ century by Hippolyte Painturaud, after the great phylloxera crisis. In 1934, Jacques-Guy Painturaud decided to market his Cognacs and Pineaux des Charentes under his own name, thus distinguishing himself from the major trading houses. Maison Painturaud Frères was born.

Since then, four generations have perpetuated this exceptional know-how. In 2010, Jean-Philippe, Vincent, Matthieu and Emmanuel took over the management of Domaine, passionately pursuing the production of authentic, refined and traditional Cognacs and pineaux.

Located in the heart of Grande Champagne, 1er Cru de l'appellation Cognac, the 40-hectare vineyard lies on an exceptional terroir. Its clay-limestone slopes give the eaux-de-vie an incomparable finesse, enabling them to age for decades in oak barrels. Concerned about pRéserver its environment, Maison Painturaud Frères has been practicing integrated viticulture for over 20 years, and in 2017 was awarded level 3 Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification, the highest distinction in the field.

Mastering every stage in the elaboration of its Cognacs, the House owns its own still and ages its eaux-de-vie in its cellars for 5 years, 10 years... even 80 years and more. Then comes the art of blending, where expertise handed down from generation to generation achieves perfect harmony. Each bottle embodies the soul of a unique terroir and the fruit of meticulous craftsmanship, offering connoisseurs an unforgettable Rare experience.

Description Painturaud Frères XO.

This is a Grande Champagne Cognac, classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac region, harvested from the vineyards of Segonzac, a village nestled between the white chalky hillsides of this prestigious cru. The youngest of the cognacs in this blend has been aged in French oak barrels for more than 25 years.
Grape variety : uni blanc. Distillation on lees and aging in barrels stored in small cellars at an optimal hygrometric degree. The color is light amber.
In the nose as in the mouth: beautiful attack on white flowers perfumes followed by touches of cinnamon, nutmeg, leather, harmoniously mixed with musk perfume and candied fruits flavors and candied mandarin marmalade of Corsican origin. Very long finish on mochas.
To be enjoyed neat or on a dark chocolate cake or meringue ice cream, or as a long drink with a citrus schweppes.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
