These old Cognacs about 30 times more Rare than an old Grande Champagne (if we refer to the stocks available throughout the appellation).
This sandy terroir, exposed to the spray of the Atlantic Ocean, benefits from the influence of the Golf Stream and enjoys almost Mediterranean sunshine.
There are plants rarely found on the coast, such as mimosa and tamarisk, giving it the nickname of "the island of herbs".
It comes from a very small estate located in Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, whose farmer is now retired.
Old gold color, amber highlights.
On the nose, we are seized by the salinity. The "wild coast" side, sunny place, sweet spices, asserts itself well, without Extravagance or fantasy.
This is a Cognac that provides a certain pleasure through its "accessible" gourmand and unexpected side.
On the palate, it's a soft Cognac, with a velvety texture, which is explained by long aging in a very small, damp cellar a stone's throw from the ocean.
