Hennessy

The Cognac Hennessy is one of the world's most prestigious Cognac houses, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and the outstanding quality of its eaux-de-vie. Founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, this house has a long history and an unrivalled tradition in the production of Cognac.

The history of the Hennessy family dates back to the 18th century, when Richard Hennessy, an Irish officer in the service of the King of France, decided to settle in Cognac, in the Charente region, to set up in the brandy trade. Drawing on his expertise and knowledge of the market, Richard Hennessy quickly made a name for himself, producing Cognacs of exceptional quality.

Over the generations, the Hennessy family has passed on its winemaking know-how and heritage, contributing to the worldwide renown of the house of Cognac. Today, Hennessy belongs to the luxury group LVMH, while remaining true to its values of excellence and tradition.

The terroir of the Charente region is a fundamental element in the production of Cognac Hennessy. Vineyards extend over some 70,000 hectares, covering six appellation contrôlée zones, the most prestigious of which are the crus of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. These terroirs, characterized by limestone soil, benefit from a moderate oceanic climate, creating ideal conditions for growing the Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and CoLombard grape varieties.

Description Hennessy XXO.

The eaux-de-vie of Cognac Hennessy XXO were carefully set aside and preserved in French oak barrels by the master blender several generations ago to make a reserve with promising potential.

The decanter has been specially modified by an artist designer to pay tribute to two families : the family of the founder Hennessy and the Maison's cellar masters.

It was at the same time as cuvée XO that Hennessy X.X.O was born in 1870.

The master blender Emile Fillioux had decided to set aside eaux-de-vie with promising potential.

The result was so astonishing that this discovery was shared around the world.

Thanks to the house's registers, several shipments took place around the world such as to the USA, CHine or Germany a few years after its creation.

It was in 2018 that the 7th generation of Master Fitters represented by Yann Fillioux and after a 50-year career with the house Hennessy, that the cuvée X.X.O was born again.

The color is Cuban mahogany amber.

With a complex aromatic palette, X.X.O develops herbal and spicy notes such as bitter orange, freshly grated nutmeg, licorice stick and dried peppermint leaves.

The palate is robustly counterbalanced by subtle, delicate aromas.
